ANNUAL LEAVE
All twelve (12) month employees are entitled to annual leave as may be approved by the Superintendent. Annual leave may be granted at the rate of one (1) day per month employed or twelve (12) days annual leave per calendar year. Eligible employees shall only accumulate a maximum total balance of fifteen (15) annual leave days.
Employees eligible for annual leave shall submit a Request for Annual Leave form in writing for taking annual leave days. The request shall be approved by the employee’s immediate supervisor, then turned into the human resources department, and then submitted for final approval to the Superintendent. Annual leave will be granted on a first requested basis. Annual leave shall not be granted or approved for twelve (12) month employees on occasions where a substitute must be obtained.
Upon termination, resignation, or retirement, the school district shall pay the balance of unused annual leave days at the employee’s current daily rate of pay for no more than the maximum number of fifteen (15) days. Payment shall be made to the employee or his/her heirs on or before the next regular payday for the cycle during which the employee was working during the time of separation or no later than fifteen (15) days following the date of separation, whichever occurs first.
