B.  Public Hearing 2024-2025 Budget - Deloris Walker

 

*Daryll Smith questioned why tax money was being given to the Charter School?

*Ronquia Watkins asked several questions regarding the 2024-2025 budget, and a question regarding funding for extracurricular activity

 

C.  Southeast Louisiana Pregnancy Center for Women and Children - Clellie Dugan and Tamira Smith

Tamira Smith, a board member of the Bogalusa Southeast Louisiana Pregnancy Center for Women and Children, spoke about the pregnancy center and what it has to offer to women who are expecting a child. Donations and volunteers are welcomed.

 

D.   National Beta Awards & Recognition - De'Anna Keating

De'Anna Keating, Bogalusa High School teacher and BETA Sponsor, acknowledged the students who received The National BETA All-Star School Service Award.

E.  Recognition of Central Elementary Assistant Principal, Mechele Frazier

Mechele Frazier, new Assistant Principal at Central Elementary, was recognized by Superintendent, Dr. Byron Hurstand Principal Natasha Oatis. Mrs. Oatis presented Mechele Frazier with some roses.

Superintendent Hurst also recognized the Bogalusa High School JROTC.  LSU has a program called the Louisiana Youth Seminar.  Six (6) students were selected to attend the seminar, who were fully sponsored by the Bogalusa City School District. Two cadets came before the board: Steven Franklin and Tyler Williams with a report about the seminar.
