Proceedings of the Bogalusa School Board taken at the Regular Meeting that was held on Thursday, November 29, 2018.

The Bogalusa School Board met in a Regular Board Meeting at the Bogalusa City School Board Office Media Center, located at 1705 Sullivan Drive, Bogalusa, Louisiana, on November 29, 2018. The purpose of the meeting is to address information received from Department Supervisors, on November 29, 2018, during the Committee Meeting, regarding updates and approval requests.

1.)         Call to Order – President Creel

2.)         Pledge of Allegiance – Superintendent Lisa Tanner

3.)         Prayer – Dr. H. Brad Williams

4.)         Roll Call:  X President Creel, X Vice President Kates, X Mrs. Duke, X5:25 Mr. Hymel, A Mr. Kemp,

                          A Rev. Mims, X Dr. Williams

5.)         Approval of Minutes of Regular Board Meeting October 25, 2018. It was motioned by Mr. Kates. A second was made by Mrs. Duke. The motion passed with unanimous approval.

6.)         Board Officers and Committee Reports – NONE

7.)         Public Session – NONE

8.)         Presentation of Early Childhood Honor Roll Certificates from Louisiana Department of Education to Head Start-Shanna Guest, Sandy’s Kids, Sandra Miller and Agape, Krystle Holmes

9.)         New Business

a.          Approval of Agreement for "Smart Care Equipment Solutions" Preventive Maintenance Agreement. It was motioned by Mrs. Duke. A second was made by Dr. Williams. The motion passed with unanimous approval.

b.         Approval of October, 2018, Financial Statements, General Fund, Food Service, Special Revenue and School Activities and Revised Budgets Special Revenue Funds. It was motioned by Dr. Williams. A second was made by Mr. Kates. The motion passed with unanimous approval.

c.        Approval of LSU Ag Center Proposal for Assistant/Associate Extension Agent.It was motioned by Mr. Hymel. A second was made by Mrs. Duke. The motion passed with unanimous approval.

d.     Approval of Forethought Consulting, Inc. Policy Update September, 2018: GBK; Employee Discipline, GBN; Dismissal of Employees. It was motioned by Mrs. Duke.  A second was made by Mr. Kates. The motion passed with unanimous approval.

10.)      Superintendent Comments – Expressed well wishes for Mrs. Walker as she prepares for her surgery on November 30, 2018.  Superintendent also gave Board Members an update on the performance scores. She gave an update on the contract negotiations continuing with the custodians.  Finally, she gave an update on the WP/BCS Commission Meeting regarding the feasibility study. The will be no WP/BCS Commission Meeting in December.

11.)      Board Members Comments – Mr. Creel had some comments regarding the WP/BCS Commission Meeting and congratulations to all for their winning of the election.

12.)      December Committee & Board Meetings will be held Monday, December 17, 2018 beginning at 5:00 p.m.
