Proceedings of the Bogalusa School Board taken at the Special Meeting that was held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018.

 

The Bogalusa School Board met in a Special Board Meeting at the Bogalusa City School Board Office Media Center, located at 1705 Sullivan Drive, Bogalusa, Louisiana, on April 10, 2018.

 

1.)        Call to Order – President Creel

 

2.)        Pledge of Allegiance – Superintendent Lisa Tanner

 

3.)        Prayer – Rev. Raymond Mims

 

4.)        Roll Call:  X President Creel, X Vice President Kates, X Mrs. Duke, X Mr. Hymel, X  4:06 p.m.,  Mr. Kemp,  

                         A Rev. Mims, X Dr. Williams

 

5.)        Board Officers and Committee Reports – NONE

 

6.)        Recess to Public Session – NONE

 

7.)        A motion was made by Vice President Kates and seconded by Dr. Williams to go into Executive Session with Hammond Sills attorney’s Wayne Stewart (present) and Ty Manieri (via telephone) to give the board an update on the NCS vs. BCS litigation. The motion passed with unanimous approval.

 

8.)           A motion was made by Vice President Kates and seconded by Dr. Williams to give BSC Counsel and Superintendent Tanner authority to enter2z into an agreement at the mediation on April 12, 2018 between NCS & BCS.  A vote was taken as follows:

 

Yes – President Creel, Yes – Vice President Kates, Yes – Rev. Mims, Yes – Dr. Williams, Yes – Mrs. Duke, Yes – Mr. Hymel and Yes – Mr. Kemp

 

9.)           Vice President Kates made a motion to adjourn back to the Special Board Meeting and Rev. Mims seconded his motion.  The motion passed with unanimous approval.
